Boston, part five – The last day

11 Feb

Everything comes to an end eventually….so it was the last day we had to spend in Boston and we tried to get the best out of it. We started walking from the South Station towards the Channel…

where it all began…………..or so they have told us back at school….

and after sitting for a while on a bench chatting with this guy

we walked up north through a still deserted town………..

to Faneuil Hall……….finally a bit crowded…

and Quincy Market

You know what? Beside the obviously famous Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge, the Grand Canyon and the Route 66, this is what says U.S. to me….. candied apples!

We kept walking north but we had to stop here, obvioulsy…

and while the darkness was approaching fast………

we passed through the Italian district

till the Charles River and the Charlestown Bridge, where we sadly said goodbye to Boston

It was a very nice surprise this city, it’s very similar in some parts to many european cities we have visisted but it’s also unique in its own way. We had the luck to visit it with so few people around and to enjoy it plenty and peacefully………  I’m really looking to the opportunity to be back someday…
